Send us Fan Mail Episode 536 "Footloose" Dean Pitchford Dean Pitchford wrote the screenplay and many of the songs in "Footloose" In June of 2024, he was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Born and raised in Hawaii and graduated from Yale University, Dean Pitchford performed off- and on-Broadway (Godspell; Pippin) before turning to songwriting, screenwriting and directing.
