The 4 movies
Show notes
Join Michael and Sam this week as they discuss, in Bill's absence, the new Canadian drama-horror film 'Violation' , written and directed by Dusty Mancinelli and Madeleine Sims-Fewer. A family reunion trip has devastating consequences, as this film turns the conventions of the genre on its head. We also chat about the new Carey Mulligan thriller 'Promising Young Woman' (directed by Emerald Fennell), William Friedkin's 2011 Southern Gothic black comedy 'Killer Joe' starring Matthew Mcconaughey, the 1989 shoestring-budget alien abduction home invasion film 'The McPherson Tape' (a forerunner of the found footage genre), and the Japanese industrial body-horror film 'Tetsuo: The Iron Man'.
