This is film one of phase one of the marvel cinematic universe, that has since spawned 26 films, with 12 more currently in production. It is the highest-grossing film franchise of all time, having grossed over $23.5 billion at the global box office. This includes Avengers: Endgame , which became the highest-grossing film of all time upon release. First time you saw the movie? Plot: The film opens with Tony Stark, who has inherited Stark Industries from his late father Howard Stark, in war-torn Afghanistan with his friend and military liaison, Lieutenant colonel James "Rhody" Rhodes, to demonstrate the new "Jericho" missile. After the demonstration, the convoy, and Starks fun-vee, not Rhodys hum-drum-vee, is ambushed and Stark is critically wounded by a missile used by the attackers: one of his company's own. He is captured and imprisoned in a cave by a terrorist group called the Ten Rings. A fellow captive and doctor named Yinsen, implants an electromagnet into Stark's chest to keep the shrapnel shards that wounded him from reaching his heart and killing him...
