The movie
Show notes
We are stepping onto the train to discuss Kevin Smith’s controversial 1999 religious fantasy crusade, Dogma. Deric selected this one, calling it his favorite Kevin Smith film, while Ryan reluctantly revisits to see if it holds up beyond his high school nostalgia. We break down how Kevin Smith pulled off this massive, star-studded project on a $10 million budget (and where that money clearly didn't go *cough* poopy-trip *cough*). We also discuss the massive backlash the film received upon release, the legendary casting of George Carlin and Alan Rickman, and the wild story of how the movie's rights were held hostage for years by a real life villain before finally getting a 4K release.
