Melissa Louise, the artist behind emoseal.com , is surprising everyone, including themselves, with The Good Girl (2002). Miguel Arteta directs Jennifer Aniston and a young Jake Guyllenhaal in this romantic drama/comedy that’s written by Mike White. We’ve also got White, Zooey Deschenal, John C. Reily, Deborah Rush and Tim Blake Nelson all fliting about as smalltown yokels bearing witness, in one way or another, to Aniston and Gyllenhaal’s budding affair and its dire consequences. Well-received at the time, but sort of forgotten about, it weaves a strange tale on an episode full of surprises not just in plot. Will it hold up, or has time lost the shine on this one?
