The movie
Show notes
This week the boys are joined by actress Tina Nikolova to drink some whiskey and beer and discuss Aftersun (2022), writer/director (and multiple-BAFTA nominee) Charlotte Wells' personal feature film starring Academy Award nominee Paul Mescal (Normal People, The Lost Daughter, Gladiator 2) and newcomer scene-stealer Frankie Corio. The film is very Scottish, and those UK-ers must really love their lottery because The National Lottery sponsored this. Apparently they sponsor a lot. The film is about a woman reflecting back on a vacation she took with her young father when she was young, reliving moments and flashes through home videos that capture more about her father than she was able to see as a child. Powerful stuff! Additional Cast/Crew: Celia Rowlson-Hall, Sally Messham, Spike Fearn, Harry Perdios, Ruby Thompson, Kayleigh Coleman, Barry Jenkins, Oliver Coates, Gregory Oke.
