The movie
Show notes
Welcome to It's A Wonderful Podcast! Our most ambitious series on the main show to date as Morgan and Jeannine take a look at how some of movie history's most famous stories have been retold throughout the generations; covering at least THREE movies every week on HOLLYWOOD RETROSPECTIVES! Going back to the origins of Alexandre Dumas' musketeers this week following the slightly back to front way this series panned out as we look at THREE versions of D'Artagnan's story to join Athos, Aramis & Porthos in stopping the political plotting of Cardinal Richeliu trying to overthrow the king! The bright, classically swashbuckling 1948 MGM version starring Gene Kelly as D'Artagnan, the 1973 spectacular ensemble version, raw and dynamic featuring Michael York, Oliver Reed, Christopher Lee, Faye Dunaway, Charlton Heston & more, and the Disney produced 1993 version as a memorial of Tim Curry as Richeliu, and also starring Chris O'Donnell, Kiefer Sutherland, Charlie Sheen & Oliver Platt!
