In 2004, independent filmmaker Shane Carruth released his first feature, a time travel twister made on a budget of $7,000. Carruth wrote, produced, directed, edited, scored, and starred in this film that won the Grand Jury Prize - Dramatic at the 2004 Sundance Film Festival, and went on to earn 120 times its budget.
