In which Christina D and Kid 1 join me in reviewing THE ODYSSEY (2026), an epic action-fantasy film from writer/director Christopher Nolan and based on "The Odyssey" by Homer. The cunning Greek king Odysseus (Matt Damon) fights through a harrowing, decade-long journey to return to his wife Penelope (Anne Hathaway) and son Telemachus (Tom Holland) after the conclusion of the Trojan War. Plagued by the whims of vengeful gods, mythical monsters, and his own internal trauma, he must use every ounce of his legendary intellect to survive the perilous seas. Meanwhile, back in Ithaca, his loyal family struggles to fend off a swarm of aggressive suitors vying for control of his kingdom while waiting for his long-overdue homecoming.. The film clocks in at 2 h 52 m, is rated R, and is currently in theaters.
